She recommended these picture books: Strega Nona's Gift by Tomie DePaola, Driscilla's Halloween by Sally Walker, Grace for President by Kelly Di Pucchio and Imogene's Last Stand by Candace Fleming.
She recommended these nonfiction books: Nic Bishop Butterflies and Moths, Never Smile at a Monkey by Steve Jenkins and Jim Henson: The Guy Who Played with Puppets by Kathleen Krull.

ReplyDeleteI really liked The Cheshire Cheese Cat, Driscilla's Halloween, Grace for President and Nic Bishop Butterflies and Moths.
The Case of the Lost Boy, Strega Nona's Gift and Never Smile at a Monkey seemed fine, but I didn't love them.
Only read a couple of chapters of Runaway Twin before abandonning it (due to age of protoganist and daughter's recommendation).
Obviously, more reading to do!
